在太平洋彼岸中美洲的一個小國海地，發生了一場世紀大地震，這場地震，不但嚴重摧毀這個本已脆弱的國家，也給國民帶來極大的苦難，海地國民處於水深火熱。基於人道立場，教協會發起對海地的捐助行動，謹請各會員慷慨解囊，幫助他們早日回復正常生活。
是次籌款行動所得捐款，一半給國際教聯(Education International, 即 EI)，一半給香港紅十字會。
本會是 EI 的屬會，今次響應 EI 的號召，將一半的捐款用於救濟海地死難教師及家屬，及將來重建教育。另外一半，將透過紅十字會，救濟一般災民。(EI呼籲信)

The money collected will be transferred through Education International (EI) and Red Cross in equal halves. EI will work on saving teachers and their families, and restore education; Red Cross will help the victims in general. (EI appeal letter)
