In 1989, when university students in Beijing staged a
democratic movement in Tiananmen Square, HKPTU took part
in organizing the largest concert in Hong Kong to raise fund
to support their patriotic peaceful sit-ins.
Every year, on June 4, HKPTU participates in patriotic
democratic demonstrations, requesting the release of democratic
activists jailed by the Chinese government.
