Tribute to Mr Szeto Wah –
Memorial Gatherings for Education Sectors
Mr Szeto Wah, the founding president and senator of HKPTU, passed away at 12:56pm, January 2, 2011. We are deeply saddened by the loss.
Mr Szeto had dedicated himself to education for 40 years. His genuine care for the well-being of students and teachers and his continued concerns in education affairs had made him a role model for all educators. His pursuit for teachers’ rights, social justice and democratic development is also widely acknowledged.
HKPTU will hold two memorial gatherings for teachers to pay their tribute to Mr Szeto. Books of condolence for attendants to put down their condolatory words will be available at the venue. Photographs, calligraphic works and publications of Mr Szeto's will be exhibited. Long-time friends and colleagues will also share their stories about their days with Mr Szeto.
