各位同工：
近日接連有教師受到前特首梁振英等建制派人士的攻擊，威脅要求教育局嚴懲教師，甚至要求「革除及注銷教師註冊」。教協認為任何教師涉及專業與操守問題，均已有既定程序調查及處理，外界不應干預。教協強調，在教師專業上，任何不符比例的懲處都是偏離公義，我們定必反對。
就建制派人士對教育界的攻擊，教協昨日已發出新聞稿，要求有關人士停止把政府施政失誤及警方濫用武力導致的社會矛盾推卸予教育界，同時促請教育局必須捍衛教育專業，不能向外間的政治干預低頭。

另一方面，早前教育局表示，由六月至九月中旬接到58宗與近月社會事件有關的教師專業操守個案，其中有7宗已處理，另外的個案則仍在進行調查。
教協一直跟進部分相關個案。為了及早向同工提供保障及支援，教協呼籲，如你或你認識的教育同工，因上述情況正面對教育局或學校的調查，請盡快致電2780 7337與教協權益及投訴部聯絡以作跟進及提供協助，促使有關方面公平公正地處理。

Two teachers were found publishing hate speech against police officers using their personal Facebook accounts. The Education Bureau recently issued two condemnation letters, warning that the Bureau might consider cancelling their teacher registration should it happen again. The PTU pointed out that, as inappropriate as the speech was, it was shared within the teachers’ private spheres and in no way affected their performance as professional teachers. The way the Education Bureau handled the matter was overly harsh.

School commenced after an unusual summer, but the crisis caused by the amendment of the extradition bill shows no sign of mitigation in the fourth week of the new school year. Thanks to education professionals’ perseverance and commitment, students was able to enjoy a safe learning environment amidst the crisis. The PTU condemned the inappropriate pressure imposed on principals and teachers by external individuals’ patrols on the first day of school. All pressure imposed on the education sector must be immediately lifted to ensure room for professional education administration as well as peace on campus.
