脊椎畸形十分常見，而老年性的寒背和青少年的脊柱側彎更是最常見的脊椎畸形類別。這些主要是肌肉不平衡引起的骨架畸形，透過使用康復理療手法來治療，效果是很理想的。每次治療後一般都能立杆見影，即時見效。
最近在教協中醫診所，我就成功治療多個此類病人。無論治療寒背或脊柱側彎，我認為都必須從整個骨架考慮，特別是軀幹部分，包括整條脊椎、肋骨、鎖骨和肩胛骨。因為身體長期的不良姿勢、不適當的用力、持續重複的動作等等，都會使部分肌肉過勞，造成肌肉的不平衡，引致外觀上一邊肌肉高、而另一邊肌肉低；一邊肢體長、而另一邊肢體短。 …… 閱讀全文

「自由遊戲」是近年幼稚園界熱門的話題之一，遠至芬蘭教育，近至國內安吉遊戲教育，都鼓勵在幼兒階段，提供少規範、高自主的環境，讓幼兒進行遊戲及探索。在停課期間，每當我看著女兒在家中把玩各種生活用品如衣架、大人衣服、掃把、被褥……無時無刻都在進行「自由遊戲」，過程中發現她會把不同的物品加以組合，用被子扮長裙，疊起軟墊再從床上跳下，雖沒有預設的學習目標，但卻有意外的學習效果。原來在幼兒的世界中，無時無刻都在進行遊戲。
教育局在幼稚園教育計劃指引中，建議半日班每天需預留30分鐘進行「自由遊戲」，全日班每天則需50分鐘。每所學校都發展出一套校本的「自由遊戲」模式，有的融入體能活動中，有的在分組時間進行，有時小組，有時全班，甚至全校混齡。
記得一次在學校推行自由遊戲，幼兒正在高低不一的木箱上穿梭，箱子上有縱橫交錯的繩子圍繞，限制幼兒的速度。其間，有高班學生多次被繩子纏上，老師並沒有上前協助，而是靠近觀察，結果幼兒成功解開繩子，繼續遊戲。其後，我們發現在其中一個高箱附近出現一個大缺口，有幼兒便站在箱子上從高處跳下，但後來當越來越多幼兒聚集該處，有機會造成危險，但因幼兒都正投入遊戲中，老師並不希望終止幼兒遊戲，故我們於該處多加繩子，降低幼兒站高跳下的機會，最後幼兒沒有被終止遊戲，多加繩子亦可提升幼兒穿越繩子的難度。以上體驗讓我們明白到在幼兒進行遊戲時，或說幼兒能否自由地進行遊戲，最大影響因素在於成人的態度，我們常會怕幼兒受傷或不守規而干預幼兒進行遊戲，但只要轉變一下自己的心態，信任孩子，放心讓他們自己發掘、探索、創新。原來，成人的一點點改變，成就孩子表現真我的動力。

Teacher De-Registered: 10 Questions for the A teacher at the Alliance Primary School in Kowloon Tong was accused of disseminating pro-independence messages and consequently de-registered for ‘serious professional misconduct’, which means the teacher is banned from entering school campuses for life. The principal and vice-principal of the school were reprimanded by the Education Bureau for mismanagement, while teachers who used the same teaching materials received warning letters… In the Bureau’s press conference on 6th October, the teacher was depicted as a most vicious ‘bad apple’. The Hong Kong Professional Teachers’ Union (HKPTU) has been following the case to gain a deep understanding of the situation and holds that the Bureau’s arguments are ridiculous and the procedure was outright ‘black box’ operation. HKPTU fully supports the teacher in appealing against the decision. The recent controversy over a teacher at the Alliance Primary School in Kowloon Tong be de-registered for professional misconduct has drawn much attention from the society. Hong Kong Professional Teachers’ Union (HKPTU) Vice-President and lawyer Chong Yiu-kwong compared the incident to issuing a red card right away and said the discipline was disproportionate. De-registration is extremely harsh as it keeps the teacher from working in education and bans him from entering school campuses for life.
